A massive climb
Started from North Halfmoon trailhead around 6 am and followed the trail up to Halfmoon lakes. We then proceeded towards North Massive's snow covered South Face. We climbed the snow slope until it became scree and gained the Southwest ridge towards North Massive (14,340’). We made the summit of North Massive and then descended the ridge (Class 3 Scramble). Once in the col we scrambled (Class 2+) up and over Massive Green (14,300’). From Massive Green we descended a bit until we made the final ascent to the summit of Mount Massive (14,421') We decided to take the west slopes back to our cars. A very long and challenging day up and over 3 summits. Made it back to our cars around 5 pm.

Massive Mania
climbed the "tour de" minus Mt Oklahoma. descended via steep scree gully and navigated my way to the lakes and eventually the trail back. Elevation gain is no joke going up to South Massive! Straight up!

SW Slopes
Soloed. Left pack down low and found marmots having a look on descent.

Mt. Massive
Southwest slopes trail from N. Half Moon Creek TH. Reached top at 12:45 and started down just after 1:00. Thunderstorms started about 1:45 glad we were off top.

Almost Epic (For a Flatlander)
12 of the men from Christ Church Plano (TX) attempted to bag Massive (100% successful!) via Standard (East Slopes) Route. Beautiful weather on a fine mountain. The long 13.75 mi. route had me a bit nervous; but I had no trouble until about the last mile when knees, ankles and feet protested pretty strongly. The new boots will be returned to REI in hopes of finding a better fit. 22nd CO 14er.

Massive SW Slopes
Did Massive with 2 friends who had never hiked on anything over 10,000 feet. We ended up hitting the summit in 2:26 and took 1:34 to descent. Very nice trail. We had rain and hail on the way down at 11 AM.

Southwest Slopes
Steep climb after getting off the main trail, but I like the directness of it. Nice ridge walk above 14k.
