| Gental climb considering rise over run (4370' for 6.8miles). Several sub-summits on ridgeline and very panaramic. Ideal weather. 4hrs time up for 2nd 14er after acclimatizing overnight and prime rib in Leadville. | ||

| shanrickv | Southeast Ridge ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2006 | |
| Climbed the long challenging southeast ridge with Alan and Robert and then completed the loop with the Massive Trail. It was a great day with typical crazy Colorado weather. We experienced sunshine, rain, snow, fog, wind and fortunately distant thunder. | ||

| Route: To Windsor Lake, gain ridge, run it hitting all the peaks, bag Massive, go down NE ridge to Native Lake trail... 20 miles with only about 8 miles of actual trail? 7,000 vert? No problem. (would have been nice if I didn't leave my keys for the "vehicle shuttle" in the car at the other side) I say this to lure other unsuspecting crazy people to this route, you realize...:) The north side of the Massive ridge is absolutely phenomenal! I want it all to myself...on second thought, don't go there. :) This was Brandon's first "Becky Special" hike. | ||

| bmcnary1 | Via the trail on the east slopes ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 23, 2006 | |
| Fun hike but would definitally like to start doing more difficult routes up mountains than just following a trail. Beautiful day above orning fog in the valley with Leadville. | ||

| JCantu1044 | Southwest Slope ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 31, 2006 | |
| After several false summits, I finally reached the summit with hiking pals Phil Miller and Dan Spare in about four and one half hours. Interesting wildlife along the way included a white marmot and mountain goat. This was a much more interesting hike than doing Elbert 48 hours prior. My eighth fourteener. | ||

| cftbq | SW slopes, mini Massive mania ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 15, 2006 | |
| Climbed the southwest slopes route from the N. Halfmoon Creek TH with daughter Trish and grandson Ted. I darted ahead to tag S. Massive, and also took off northward to Massive Green as the other two began their descent from the summit. A beautiful day: running and climbing in shorts and tank top most of the day. Started at 6:40 am, summitted just before noon (the first time) back to the car at 4:00 pm. A few good pictures and 14er #26. | ||

| roozers42 | Route Climbed: West Slopes ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 3, 2006 | |
| From North Halfmoon TH. Intended to do all the 14,000+ summits, but only did "Massive Green" and Massive due to bad weather. Beautiful basin around Halfmoon Lakes, much unpleasant loose rock and scree to the North Massive saddle and then again on the descent down some other gully. | ||

| myrone | From N. Halfmoon TH ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 1, 2006 | |
| Started up at 6:00AM with ideal weather, missed the new CFI trail and ended up around the west side and scrambling up the huge basin (not easy). I picked the right line as I reached the top about 100 yards west of the summit. Lots of people on top, spectacular views all-around, stayed about 20 mins then back down the CFI way and back to the TH at 12:10PM. My 24th 14'er and another gorgious Colorado morning. Sweet!!! | ||
