You can't afford 1.5 hours of my time, bub.

Never heard of this peak until "NOW." "Now?" "Just now." (Name that movie quote.)

All I can think of is Schwarzenegger going "Now-woo" when he tries to say "now". Or Long Duck Dong and Jake in 16 Candles going "Married?" "Married."

I'm drawing a blank, what is it?

Thanks for the vote.

Spaceballs.

When Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis's character) and his main henchman officer have an exchange on the bridge of their big spaceship.

Now I'm drawing a blank as to the reason for the exchange.

Cool page and peak Brian!

We actually "attempted" this one in January or something but after plowing thru. the snow on the drive in, it started snowing/raining and the mojo went away and so we finished our hike food in the car at the trailhead and drove back home.....long story and a big ass run-on sentence :)

My mojo has left me more than once. Looks like with all your recent submissions you got yours back and then some! Nice job on Baker, Whitney and Lost Arrow Spire. Pretty impressive. Are you guys hitting Leavenworth like every weekend now?

Hey, if you are interested..........I'm headed to Shuksan this weekend.

Thanks Brian and thank you for the Shuksan invite. We're planning on going somewhere where we can bring our mutt with us this weekend since she's been staying in a kennel past few weekends ....and there are plans to leave her in the kennel again after that for a weekend or two.

Ah Brian, I like your new page here. Any pics showing Goat Mtn (west of St. Helens)? Goat is the county highpoint for Cowlitz county but the day I did it was in the rain hence no views and no pics that mean anything (I'm used to no views in Oregon / Washington)

Anyway, congrat's on your newest effort.

I did not get any photos of that one but it actually was one of the topics of conversation on this summit. For a while I have been wondering what the peak was just to the left of St. Helens when viewed from Portland. It actually was a topic on the NW message board a while back. After checking it out, I am pretty sure it is Goat Mtn. I asked someone on the summit and he pulled out his guide book and we figured it out.

Anyway, is there a route to the top or is it bushwhacking? My topo disc shows a forest or gravel road on the west side up to about 3200 feet. That'd leave about 1800 feet of bushwhack if that is correct.

Sounds like an adventure. Count me in if you are going!

Yes, it is all bushwhacking from the road. We did the bright pink surveyors ribbon to mark our route up and down (which we retrieved on the descent) It would be easy to cliff out on this one and Bob has an interesting story to tell about his experience on Goat Mtn. Here's my trip report which I filed on it. Here is a topo showing the HP Another Trip Report worth a look is this one by Jim Perkins

If you can hit this peak on a good day, it'd be a nice one to post since it is unique and a great viewpoint for Mt. St. Helens. .

Hey, nice trip reports. I am intrigued by Goat now. This one might be good to do in like October or early November before the snows and when the heat is less and the underbrush is waning. I'll have to put this on my "things to do when you can't do a big mountain" list. Thanks for the links. And the idea of taking surveyor's tape if I'm ever going to be not on a trail!

This mountain did much better during the 1980 blast than Harry Trumann- Good forests all over this mountain.

Yep, the blast went the other direction from this one or it would have been leveled.
