Hiked Many Times  Sucess!

Fun quick hike, that I have done many times. My son and brother hiked it ten years ago when my son was around 9yrs old. He didn't want to leave the summit. Hope to do it again soon.

Beautiful day on top of Manadnock  Sucess!

My wife and I and my dad climbed via the white dot trail and descended on the White Cross Trail. The hike satrted out cloudy and foggy but the fog began to lift as we climbed out of the trees. My dad decided to stop just past the White Cross intersection and Blynn and I finished without him. He's 77 and we may not have too many more opportunities to climb with him and it was great to have him along. The whind was howling at the summit. We only saw 11 other people the whole day. from what I hear this is unprecedented.

Sunny but cold  Sucess!

A nice sunny day, warm and muddy low on the mountain, cold and windy on the top. Too many people for my liking but still a pleasant day with beautiful views from the top. Appropriately, had dinner at Annapurna in Boston that evening :)

A favorite option  Sucess!

Have climbed Monadnock many times, often because of poor weather up north or because its so darn easy to get to from Boston and I'm being lazy. Cascade Link/Spellman/Pumpelly was great on my last trip and probably the route I'll end up taking from now on due to the (relatively) less crowded nature of the trail and the fun scramble section on the Spellman spur.

Monadnock=Open Rock  Sucess!

Expansive views all over this mountain and ridgeline. From Park HQ took Parker-Cliff Walk-Bald Rock-Smith Conn-Amphitheater-White Arrow-Monadnock Summit-Pumpelly-Town Line Mtn-Cascade Link-Park HQ. Great 7-8 Mile loop.

White Dot to Cascade Link to Spellman to Pumpelly  Sucess!

One of my favorite trail combinations to use for this peak, you begin to get some views of the surrounding hills and valleys shortly after you branch off onto the Cascade Link which follows a runoff stream the majority of the way up. Spellman is a fun scramble up to Pumpelly, and from there to the top you get periodic breaks in the trees along the ridgeline all the way to the summit.

As an alternate, this is an incredibly fun experience to do at night. Start the climb at 1-2am and you can easily make it to the top for some stargazing before the sunrise.

Mount Monadnock  Sucess!

Climbed via the Parker Trail from the Monadnock State Park Headquarters. It was nice to check out such a popular mountain on a relatively quiet day. The rugged, rocky terrain near the summit is quite spectacular. Had several glimpses of the White Mountains from Monadnock's higher slopes.

Nice Climb  Sucess!

Got started around 8:00 and saw a few people, mostly passing me as they went up. Climbed the White Dot and descended the White Cross. A surprising amount of scrambling for so small a mountain. Wind was ferocious on top. As I came down, it seemed like there was a parade going up. Glad I got there early.

Perfect Fall Day  Sucess!

Took the family up on a perfect fall day. I think there were millions of people on the mountain that day but it didn't bother us too much. Lots of rookies...

Icy!  Sucess!

Beautiful view and visibility from the Boston Skyline to the Presidential Range. Thin snow cover on top of thick layer of ice. Katoohlas were good enough to gain traction and enjoy a nice walk to the summit and down via the White Dot and White Arow trails.

Nice hike up pumpelly  Sucess!

Surprised how many people were on top of Monadnock considering it was late November! Great panoramic views on top with clear skies and temperatures in the 50s.

2 times  Sucess!

I'm in a class at my school that goes for weekend long trips with equipment from 1974 and during the winter we spent three days on the monadnock sunape greenway and recently we climbed monadnock and found a cliff for rock climbing. Aparently I'm afraid of dangling from a rope
