Route Climbed: North Ridge Date Climbed: November 2003  Sucess!

Took two tries and is a deceivingly long route with some interesting route finding. Was really cold and our water froze a couple of hours into a 9 hour push to the summit. Fast and convenient descent.

A couple of times...  Sucess!

May 30, 2004, traversed from Mt. Stanford, descending the SE Slopes: Red Peak and Mt. Warren, eat your heart out: Mt. Morgan (N) is now the worst climb I've ever done. I thought that ridge from Stanford was never going to end. I took a spill on a loose boulder along here that didn't add to my enjoyment of the route.

Mt. Morgan's register reads like a who's-who of people working on the SPS List. No one else in his/her right mind would slog up here.

July 6, 2006: Despite my comments above, I came back to climb Nevahbe Ridge with Bob anyway. Not a bad climb, but the class 4 rating given to it by the 1st ed. of Moynier and Fiddler is way overstated--most is class 1-2, with just a couple of short sections of (mostly contrived) class 3. Still, there's an interesting variety of rock types, and the transition from desert to alpine terrain is unusual. Worth doing once (although it's also worth observing that Croft has apparently done this a number of times).

Route Climbed: Traversed from Mt. Stanford, decent via Southeast Slope Date Climbed: July 19, 2001  Sucess!

This was a fun dayhike with my brother Ron. The Stanford - Morgan traverse is quite enjoyable. For an alternative opinion, cleary clueless, see the above entry. Trip Report
