Clements Saddle route  Sucess!

Nice hike with my Dad, brother, and sister from Logan Pass visitor center to Clement Saddle, and from there up the ridge to the summit. Made it to the summit in a little over two hours, with tons of breaks for picture taking. Great terrain and great views from the summit. Round-trip time of a little over four hours. I'd definitely recommend the hike if you visit Logan Pass.

Southeast Face  Sucess!

Shortest approach climb from Logan Pass. The views are worth the hike especially of the mountains above Hidden Lake and across the valley.

Scary Downclimb  Sucess!

Did a snowclimb to the Clements saddle area then followed occassional cairns to a cliffed out spot. I didn't feel like locating the next cairn so I scrambled up an easy fifth class face onto the summit plateau. On the way down, I took a guess at where the proper route was and ended up in some chimney that ended up being the freakiest downclimb I've ever encountered. It sounds like there is a way up this thing but I probably prefer the crazy scrambling route. Good summit to scope out skiable lines around Logan Pass.

Route Climbed: New Route Date Climbed: July 20, 2005  Sucess!

I've climbed this mountain about 3 times, July 20th 2005 is my most recent climb. I climbed it with my grandmother and father. It's a good first-of-the-season climb. The weather was wonderful, and there are great views.

The Park Service has marked a new trail up the mountain. We summitted on a great Montana summer day. Nice easy half day climb (if you can get a parking spot-go early).

My first Glacier Park summit - was a nice hike to get acclimated to the Glacier rock and terrain and wind! A short climb maybe 1.5 hours to the summit from the visitor center. Nice views from the top too - reward far exceeds the effort to summit this peak. Climbed with my favorite climbing partner Aaron and his long time cimbing companion Vern. Great day!

Route Climbed: SW Ridge, then wrapped around south to summit. Date Climbed: August 31, 2004 & August 14, 2006.  Sucess!

One of the easier climbs in GNP (Divide Mountain, in the St. Mary area--and also a nice climb--is another), this was quite enjoyable. Climbed with Aaron Johnson and Ellen Ritt; we followed the newly-laid-down cairns (due to over-use erosion the Park Service is changing the route--don't just head out across the tundra on this mountain!) from the waterfall to the saddle running between Clements and Oberlin, then proceeded up the cliffs toward the Oberlin summit until the winds became so strong (they were wailin' across that saddle!) we thought it dangerous to continue, at which point we cut across the southern upper scree field to the summit. Entire ascent took maybe an hour-and-a-half.

Nice views of the Logan Pass Peaks! Nice day, particularly since it was my first GNP climb with Aaron and Ellen!

Climbed the peak again, this time solo, August 14, 2006. Once again marveled at the magnificent views for such comparatively little time and effort. A great visual introduction to GNP!

Fun & easy jaunt. 1,500 ft. elevation gain in the 1.5 hrs to the summit. Patches of fresh snow; waterfalls off the rocky bench. Summit ridge of brick red argillite - beautiful. No evidence of a summit register, but fossils everywhere. Non-technical; used only plastic mtn boots & gaiters. Took crampons & axe but used neither.

My 1st trip to Glacier--unforgettable. My husband has spent many, many days climbing there & had always longed to share the grandeur with me. Grizzly was next to boardwalk the next day.

The most accessible of Glacier's real-deal peaks, Oberlin is a real treat with limited effort.

Route Climbed: S Ridge Date Climbed: 17 July 1982 & 5 Sept. 2012

We were always saving Mount Oberlin, the shortest easiest summit climb in Glacier Park, for "one of those days".

The day came on 17 July 1982 - 6 inches of new snow, cold and blustery - summer in Montana!

Climbed with Monica Spicker.

30 years later - did as a side trip on the way to Clements - 5 Sept. 2012 - alone.

23 Jun 2015 with Moni - via S ridge
