| WORST.TRAIL.EVER. 7 miles of stair master climbing. Second time on the summit. I wonder why I did it again. Hurts the knees. Saw some tarantulas, sunset photos from the saddle were spectacular. | ||

| Hiked with Jon W. Both our first ascent of Oly and maybe the last. We made summit in under 3 hrs but it was a tough stair master session. We had just gotten laid off from Fidelity Investments a few days prior. Good view of the valley! Had some trouble finding the trail back down initially but a good scramble! | ||

| One of my favorite hikes....! mostly because it's 2 seconds from my house! I've had a goal for 2 summers to be able to run the entire way but i haven't quite been able to do it at a good pace without stopping...2010 will be the year though! | ||

| Fun route, ran into snow up near the top after about 800' and rapped down the ridge on the west side of the slab. Glissaded down from the col. | ||

| TacoJockey | Finally got around to it ![]() Date Climbed: Apr 18, 2010 | |
| After a year of living in Salt Lake and seeing Olympus every day I finally got around to climbing it. I'm kicking myself for not getting around to it earlier- what a great mountain! I only wish I'd started earlier- bit of a posthole nightmare on the way down. | ||

| I picked up a snowshoe on the way down. Send me a message if it is yours. This was my first ascent of Mt. Olympus. I hiked solo and made good time. I was happy that I brought my snowshoes, but they were not totally necessary. It was extremely cloudy near the top, but started to clear up after a while. Caught a little rain on the way down. | ||

| I've had quite a few adventures on this mountain. June 4, 2005: Did the West Slabs with PellucidWombat, after which we continued on to tag each of the summits of Olympus from the northernmost to the southern main summit. This is a good, fairly long day of scrambling. Kamps Ridge: Way back in the day with GlennMerrill. We got hopelessly lost on the way down among a tangle of brush. Famous last words: "We don't need headlamps. If we're not back by nighttime, we deserve to be hiking in the dark." Forgotten Arete: I climbed this with Glenn Merrill and an out-of-towner from summitpost, and have soloed it twice since as a nice workout in the preseason. Guert's Ridge: This (along with Forgotten Arete) has become my standard early season tune-up since it melts out and is climbable in April. I've climbed it three times since the first time in 2006 or 2007, and it's a good time every time. One time I climbed, then descended to the base of Forgotten Arete and climbed that before calling it a day. | ||

| Started the hike just a little late in the day. Took my wife with me, and it was an unseasonable hot September day. She planted herself about mid-mountain on the section of steep rock, and wouldn't budge. With nose-ring and pull cord, metaphorically speaking, i dragged her the rest of the way to the top. Luckily, the views and scenery softened her, and it turned out to be well worth it. Until we came down the last 2 miles of exposed microwave type hillside. We baked and I still haven't lived that down. Glad to say that she still enjoys hiking to this day. | ||

| TLP | felt the heat ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 19, 2009 | |
| I flew in from NJ the day before, after working an overnight shift. I was on a trip to do King's Peak and was meeting up with someone later that day. Before my trip started, back in the spring I was looking for a hike to do in SLC, when I saw this on an atlas page, and lo and behold I came across the page here on SP, which aided me before the hike. I started at dawn to avoid the heat, but still felt it coming down. I wore a brand new pair of boots, which was not a good thing. One reviewer of the boots, said they didn't need to be broken in, well they do! The views of the mountains and SLC were great. I'm glad I did this hike. | ||

| I completely underestimated this hike. I had no idea what i was getting into. A friend called me up and asked me to go with her. So I just up and left with what i had on. Some levis and a black shirt. I bought a 20oz water bottle and started hiking. I made the water last to the summit, but the scorching 100 degree day was taking its toll. Half way down I talked a hiker into giving me a sip of water. By then i was severely dehydrated... I'm not sure how i made it the rest of the way, i don't remember even getting back to the car or driving to the 7-11. But I do remember how good the 3 frosty gateraids were! | ||

| Went with the wife...aka Punchline. I think I need to do this peak when there is alittle snow on the ground. Good to get some vertical in for other peaks later. Looks as if Joe owns this mountain. :^) | ||
