| Dean | Walk from the gate ![]() Date Climbed: Apr 20, 2012 | |
| Easy one after a long drive from Globe and Aztec Peak. Afterward, we headed for Flagstaff and a date with Kendrick Peak the next day. Sacha Bobst was my companion on 7 summits during this trip. | ||

| Dartmouth Hiker | A "normal" summer's day ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 20, 2010 | |
| Parked at the junction with FR-27 and walked the remaining 2.5 miles to the top. Up here in the pines and undergrowth, I felt like I was back in New England on a typical summer day! At the summit, the couple manning the lookout tower graciously invited me up; they were quite nice, though not so much the case with their dog! Views were expansive, especially from atop the tower. On a clear day they'd be superlative, but the monsoon season has brought with it pesky haze, limiting views to 50 miles or so. I may come back here again in clearer weather and on a luckier day... | ||

| The road was fun to drive, we saw lots of birds, some deer, and lots of great views. Was nice and cool compared to Phoenix too. | ||

| goat14er | Summer escape ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 27, 2008 | |
| Very green up there as a result of the monsoon storms. Slopes were speckled with orange from the agave stalks. Very impressive view from the summit and very quiet up there. Few cars and ATVs, probably less popular in mid-summer. | ||

| weeds19 | Incoming Storm ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 22, 2007 | |
| I drove up the dirt road to the gate while watching some dark threatening clouds begin to fill the sky. After a quick run to the top and a few minutes admiring the ever-changing sky I headed back to the car and began the drive back to the interstate and eventually the airport in Phoenix. | ||

| Beautiful fall day. The view from the top is pretty impressive. I wish more people would walk up, at least some of the way, instead of running their vehicles up there. | ||
