Lots of fun glisades between summit and saddle both ways. Did Belford then the Ox via Missouri Gulch. Made camp at the cabin Friday night. I'll be back a 3rd time to get big MO. . .

The date is a guess - it was sometime before I graduated. Linked Oxford and Belford.

Cold start....but a great day. Perfect weather and great hiking partners (Alan and Scout) made it a wonderful experience.

Climbed this one from Belford in the middle of the night under a full moon! No headlamp was needed! At the summit, an owl swooped right over me!

First duo nearly whooped me! Great climbing partners kept me going. Grateful for an early start which allowed us to see the BIG thunderstorm in the rearview mirror as we drove east out of Clear Creek Canyon. #8 and #9!

My wife and I hiked Mt. Oxford via Mt. Belford from the Missouri Gulch trail head for our 4th and 5th 14ers and first double. We got caught by grapple snow on the return to Belford and then rain as we descended via Elkhead Pass.

Easy climb over from Belford - but a long pull on the way out. Great camp at Vicksburg the night before we climbed. Not so many people back then. A big dog - from whereabouts unknown, came to visit our campfire. Really fine memories of these Sawatch peaks.

This was my first climb of Belford & Oxford. I came down Belford Gulch with someone I met on the trail rather than go back over Belford. There was a trail which faded out. We then got to bushwack back along the creek to the bridge on the Missouri Gulch trail. I wouldn't recommend this return unless it was to escape some lightning.
