| We drove up to the radio towers and hiked from there. There were gliders all over the place and one flew so close that those of us on the summit could see the pilot sitting in the cockpit. Frightening but amazing. Great views. | ||

| The first time I tried this mountain I followed a group of people up the wrong trail and ended up having a "learning experience." The second time I tried, found the right trail and succeeded! | ||

| Not a bad hike. If you're going, might as well follow the dirt road to the end and summit Tigger Peak on the way. | ||

| Least favorite 14er so far - carrying a camera was almost a waste, except to get shots of my fellow hikers. Trail (and road) to around 12,700' is good. Lots of talus and scree from that point to the summit. Threatened rain all day (7AM-2PM), but held off till we got in the car! | ||

| Steep climb up through the canyon, but fun popping out at treeline. Friends first 14'er. Weather held off for us to summit. | ||

| I started at 8900 feet at about 6:20AM, reached the summit around 10:15 and got back to the trailhead at 2:30PM. I like the road, it's not too steep, and it allowed me to make really great time. The weather was beautiful, with hardly any wind. That was a problem at the summit, for there were bugs out the freaking yin-yang up there. Nothing that bites or stings, but still very annoying. The scenery is some of the best in the Sawatch. | ||

| Camped at about 11,000 at a perfect site, funny thing was all the guide books / online descriptions say the road is fairly rough especially above the radio towers. Well, around the corner after the radio towers we just so heppened to run into a brand spanking new mini-cooper from NewYork coming down the road! Either that car is bad ass or the road isn't as rough as it is made out to be. The climb was fairly easy except for a sore knee from Mt. Antero the day before. Number 21 on the way to 54. | ||

| Both of my dogs (such troopers!) and myself summitted! Over 5000 feet of elevation gain, and just under 7 miles to the summit. (It did take us 6 hours...) Looking at Mt Princeton from US 285, it sure gives you a feeling of accomplishment! | ||

| Mots010 | A fine day ![]() Date Climbed: May 11, 2007 | |
| Started from the Radio towers. Hardly a cloud in the sky all day and very warm. Hung out at the summit for 1.5 hours. KirkT posted a TR on 14ers.com. The trail is mostly snow covered still. Would recommend an ice axe and safe travel techniques for avy terrain. Snow is melting FAST. | ||

| First one for my wife and it was perfect. Little snow close to summit but beautiful. Camped just past radio towers and hiked from there. Hiking during the week keeps the crowds away.. | ||
