Mount Rainier on March 23,...
Mount Rainier on March 23, 2003. The fact that it had been raining and snowing in the Pacific Northwest for 2+ weeks and the park rangers told us no climbers had reached Camp Muir in 2 weeks did not prevent us from making a summit attempt.

Your trip report is well written and your photos are beautiful John. There is some serious beta there for someone attempting a winter ascent of Rainier. Sounds like a lot of fun, even if you didn't summit.

Thanks for taking the time to read the trip report and look at the photos Martin. Although it's disappointing not to summit, the trip was still quite fun and a great experience. Sounds like you had quite an adventure on Devil's Kitchen over the weekend as well. Great stuff with the photos, route description, and trip report.
