| videogamesforsale | Memorial Day ![]() Date Climbed: May 27, 2013 | |
| This was probably the 8th or 9th time I have climbed Mt Rosa and I have to say I was pretty disappointed at the amount of garbage in Frosty Park. Most of the brand new fencing to keep motorized vehicles out of the meadow has been cut down. Witnessed dirt bikes on trails that prohibit motorized vehicles and lots of fresh tracks almost to the top of the main trail. Every sign is shot to bits. Dozens of trees shot down that were not shot down last year. Lots of garbage in the creek that leads to the reservoir. If this keeps up they will close that road. I've never taken the St Mary's Falls trail but I will next time so I can avoid Frosty Park. And to top it all off the summit marker at the top of Mt Rosa is gone. | ||

| Took the short trail from Frosty Park. Climbed w/ Tara (11) and Emma (9). Great time, but I think they liked the "off road" drive down #379 better than the hike. | ||

| My wife and I hiked this with my friend and his wife, and my friend and I each had our 9-month-old babies (firsts for both our families) on our backs. Great family hike, and great way for my little girl to get her first mountain top down. :) | ||

| Another awesome hike to Rosa. Done this one several times and still love it. Always take the long way from St. Marys Falls, it's worth the extra miles. | ||

| Climbed solo from the Gold Camp Road parking lot. There is still quite a bit of snow on the slope to the summit, but a good trail has been forged through it by previous hikers. Saw two other people and a small dog on my way back down. Round trip (including base of St. Mary's Falls) was about 14 miles and 4500 ft of elevation gain. The view from Mt. Rosa is exceeded only by the view from Pikes Peak! | ||

| cftbq | My favorite mountain ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 12, 2011 | |
| Had to do it again, after a too-long hiatus. I "cheated" to shave about 2 miles off the usual route from the Gold Camp Rd. parking lot, and climbed the ridge directly to the tunnel from Helen Hunt Falls. My measurements say this makes about an 11-mile RT, but, amazingly, TOPO! says only 9.2. Take your pick. Of course, snow and some postholing on the last 500 vertical feet. Had the summit all to myself. | ||

| A very cold day this early in the season. I brought a Camelbak and my water was frozen almost immediately. 20s on the summit with 30ish mph wind gusts. Fun hike nonetheless and didn't see another soul all day (if you don't count a few offroaders that is :). | ||

| Hiked with Falcon Curves hiking group. We all summited. 8 members youngest was 53 oldest 73. We came up from Frosty's park. The 4 WD road was very rocky. Beautiful weather. Trail is slick were motor bikes have smoothed down dirt and scratched rocks. Motor bikes are rutting sections of trail. | ||

| Incliner | Snowy... ![]() Date Climbed: Jan 11, 2010 | |
| The drive to frosty's park is pretty bad in January but was a highlight. Most would say that this is an easy hike, due to the lack of steep mixed snow, rock and ice. But that is what makes it tougher, say moderate. The lack of rocks knee to waist deep snow and relatively steep grade make the trail tough to negotiate. The summit push flows though some great trees and rocks, the view is 360 degrees of the pikes region. The Western view has lines of snow peaked mountains... | ||

| TCart215 | A hike up to the clouds ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 18, 2009 | |
| Just some suggestions I wrote to the page's author about: The trail is clearly marked, but I saw nothing about "Nelson's Trail". The clearing on the right is bordered by a fenced off area and there is an old beat-up sign that says "Captain Jacks Multi-Use Trail System". The trail number for Mount Rosa is #672 (the one on the right, going uphill). Then at the first summit the trail #673 to the right is the trail to take all the way to the top of Mount Rosa. After we summited we in the clouds most of the time, but every once in a a while there would be a clearing for beautiful views of the Penrose-Rosemont Reservoir and Pike's Peak. | ||
