| We made it up the 8200' crest, but didn't traverse over to the high point. Maybe I'll go back and do it again and we can get an mmHHm! earlier start. | ||

| Levi | Three hours of sleep, 11 hours walking ![]() Date Climbed: Nov 3, 2010 | |
| Climbed with a buddy of mine and my dog. We got a 5 am start and ended up getting a little lost in the dark. Snow starts about a mile into the trail and caused us to lose it. We waited for sunrise to find we were on a ridge across from Monitor Ridge. After a lot of bushwhacking we got on the right trail. It was very windy the entire day. We would sink to our waists in the snow by the rocks and my dog gave up about half way up. I had to carry him on my shoulders awhile but then he got his second wind. It was a tough one to make but it was worth it. The views were incredible without a cloud in the sky. | ||

| sastar | Warm Day ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 25, 2010 | |
| Second time climbing St. Helens in two years. Started out from Climbers Bivouac around 0845. Warm sunny day top to bottom. Very hazy at lower elevations and thunderheads could be seen off to the south around Mt. Jefferson. Still a lot of snow up at the top, especially inside the crater rim preventing a direct view down into the crater. | ||

| Diggler | 1st Washington 'summit!' ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 10, 2010 | |
| Started out from the trailhead at 12.12 after late previous night coming up (to Beaver campground) from Hood- an adventure in itself. Beautiful day- blue skies, birds chirping, etc. Uneventful hike up; took some breaks along the way & enjoyed the amazing views. Easier to hike on the snow. Seemingly as if to validate the maps' claims that there were indeed glaciers on the mountain, we saw several small crevasses en route, adding to the climb. As I thought, popping up at the rim was spectacular, with Rainier waiting for us on the other side! Crater (+ lava dome + mini glaciers inside) otherworldly. We could also see Adams, Hood (summited day before!), Jefferson, & barely the 3 Sisters! Summited a few minutes after 18.00. Stayed away from the crack at the summit cornice! Hung out, had some beer, & left 19.19. Perhaps the best ass glissading I've ever had- grooves worn into mountain by previous summiters were incredible! Due to the snow cover, we were able to descend glissading to virtually the level where the trail goes into the forest. Back at the parking lot 21.17, exhausted. Quite enjoyable campfire that night at the bivuoac, before leaving the Northwest the next morn. Great to do this amazing peak (my first Washington summit!) with Jake (thanks for driving down from Seattle, man) & Faith!! To Sean, from whom we got the permits- really sorry you couldn't make it yourself, but thanks so much- we had a great time. | ||

| Worm Flows is a fun straight forward route. Ascended on Skis the whole way. Wide open fun skiing the whole way down. Climbed with my friend Clint McMahill during our final year of med school. | ||

| It ain't Rainier or Hood, but I had a lot of fun on this little climb. Excellent hard snow on a cloudy morning and huge glissades on a hot and sunny afternoon. | ||

| mrbynum | Atop a sea of clouds ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 13, 2009 | |
| Took the Swift Glacier route as the climbers bivy was still closed for the season (it was open two days later). Thin clouds surrounded the 6000 foot level however the trail was melted out enough that visibility was never an issue. Once we broke through the clouds it was crystal clear above us for the remaining 2000 ft. | ||

| climbnshoot | Mothers' Day Madness ![]() Date Climbed: May 8, 2010 | |
Started at 6:30am for a pleasant climb in the blue sky. Many people were in dresses... we learnt this is a tradition for mother's day. Snow became slushy after 2pm. Surprisingly there were still people on their way up at 3:30. Worm flows is the only approach right now... climbers' bivouac had a closed gate as of Saturday. The worm flows route tacks on another 1000 ft vertical which goes by quickly.![]()

| Tom Waggoner | White Out ![]() Date Climbed: May 2, 2010 | |
We raced to beat the weather to the summit with no views of the crater. I never would have believed you could ski all the way to the summit if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. We climbed back down in a white out. It was a nice conciliatory reward after having to retreat off Rainier.![]()

| There are few things as exciting as hiking up a volcano that has recently blown, respectively. Great hike up and amazing to be on the rim. You can see smoke and the light of sky through the snow you stand on. Going down, my friend and I started to cautiously glissade but then realized you could take monster steps and really throw yourself down the snow slope. | ||
