Mount Saint Nicholas

Taken in February 2009 from Highway 2.

This isolated peak stands at 9376 ft / 2858 m above sea level in the Nyack Area of Glacier National Park in Western Montana.

This area is remote and home to a diversity of wildlife including the gtizzly bear.

It was first climbed in 1920. Distance from the road via trails and climbing routes is about 18 miles.

This mountain, with a little snow on it, could give the best of,em a run for their money. It looks more like the Matterhorn than the Matterhorn peak of the Sierras.
