Ski Hut Trail to Summit  Sucess!

First time in Baldy Bowl. My legs were feeling it at the top. Beautiful vistas.

North Backbone  Sucess!

Third time on Baldy, definitely my favorite route. I'd do it again if it wasn't for the crazy scary descent down Pine.

North Backbone (with Pine and Dawson)  Sucess!

6th summit of Baldy, took North Backbone approach from Blue Ridge Rd (4wd/high clearance HIGHLY recommended). Trail was very scrambly and loose in spots (Class 2), but awesome. The view of Baldy from the Dawson/Baldy saddle is ultra intimidating. Highly recommended but be extremely careful.

Beautiful Morning  Sucess!

Quick hike up Ski Hut to the top and back down. Left Manker a bit before 5am - rather spend an hour in the dark than one in the heat.

Best in winter  Sucess!

Climbed many times; a fun jaunt anytime, but especially in the winter...

Beautiful Day  Sucess!

Climbed with Las Vegas Mountaineers Club and Ericd. Beautiful day, but windy. Strenuous with nearly full pack - great for training!

First Summit  Sucess!

Summitted my first peak! Used the Baldy Bowl trail and it took me 5 hours to get to the top, 2.5 to get down.

From the N (Blue Ridge)  Sucess!

Blue Ridge, Pine, Dawson, Baldy, W Baldy then back. Strange to see no one on the trail all day, then come over the top into crowds from Baldy Basin.

Nearly Perfect Weather  Sucess!

My daughter and I climbed Baldy via DBB (round trip) today. Weather on top was nearly perfect but the day's best moment was running into some of the Baldy Bighorn sheep herd
on the otherwise boring fire road between Falls Rd and the Notch.

Winds over 50mph!  Sucess!

4th time up to Baldy, though this last trip was a bit of a doozy. I wouldn't have made it without my down jacket. The icy winds practically froze off my husbands face and made a couple of our friends head back to the ski hut. The bitter end of winters wrath was flourishing here this past Sunday.

Another fun day on Baldy  Sucess!

Took the loop from Manker to the notch, then up the backbone and down the ski bowl trail. Beautiful...but busy day! Good times.

Snow in May  Sucess!

Nice day to summit in late May. Scattered snow at the top, and someone made a snowman near the start of the backbone. Plenty of hikers, dogs, and mountain bikers at the top. Ski lifts were running, but it would be cheating to take them.

Menker Flats, mt Baldy, Devil's Backbone, & mt Harwood  Sucess!

Good 10,000 foot training with a 3900' elevation gain, and nice 6 mile trail from Menker Flats Trailhead by way of the ski hut. Extra credit was bagging mt Harwood at 10,064' while descending down the east ridge aka devil's backbone. And kinda like mt Fuji in a way, there was a road to walk down past the ski area.
