Loop: Sanitas West Valley Trail & Sanitas Valley Trail  Sucess!

I enjoyed this "shortest day of 2008" hike up Mt. Sanitas. It was VERY cold, but sunny and pleasant when out of the wind. The high country was snowed in and covered in clouds, but we enjoyed expansive views to the east. Hiking partners: John's CMC outing.

Fun trail.  Sucess!

This is a fun trail and summit - nice boulder problems along the way. Done with a bunch of friends :)

Quick  Sucess!

Set a brisk pace for myself and made it from the road to the summit in 35 mins via Sanitas Trail. Descended the steeper East Ridge trail.

All Day Saturday  Sucess!

Started off on Canyon and took the Red Rocks trail to the Mt. Sanitas trail head. Went up along the Mount Sanitas trail, and came down via some unmapped trail that we thought was East Ridge. Turned out to be barely traveled and extremely steep, and came out a little ways down the walking path.

Sanitas  Sucess!

Nice Friday afternoon hike on a partially cloudy March day. Headed up the south ridge and returned via the much steeper east "ridge" and the broad Sanitas Valley footpath. While there were others on the trail, it wasn't as crowded as other people made it seem like it was going to be.

Sanitas Trail  Sucess!

My morning disappeared quickly so I changed plans from S. Boulder & Bear to Sanitas. What a nice little hike and I hit the summit a little faster than expected.

Mount Sanitas Trail  Sucess!

Climbed with a good friend via the Mt. Sanitas Trail and headed down via the East Ridge to Dakota Ridge. It was a fun a and quick outing with fairly cooperative weather.

Ran up this morning  Sucess!

Wanted to try Longs Peak today, but Leah wasn't feeling up to it, so I settled for riding my bike to the Sanitas Valley Trailhead and running/hiking to the top of this peak. Made it up in 22 mins. Descended down the east ridge, but I think I got off trail and ended up on a very steep non-maintained trail. Took it down to the main Sanitas Valley Trail and then ran it back to my bike.

It was a great morning workout.

Unrelenting!  Sucess!

Took the afternoon off to hike up this peak. I've lived in Boulder for less than a month, so I found the steepness of this hike to be quite challenging. Descended via the even steeper East Ridge.

Sanitas trail  Sucess!

The steps at the bottom are a pain in the ass. Nice views from the top though. Hit this peak, Flagstaff and Haystake today.

Mount Sanitas Trail  Sucess!

Took an evening hike via the Mount Sanitas Trail. The first third is basically climbing a log staircase. Overall, an enjoyable hike, but if you're climbing in the Boulder group and want a great view at the end, I would go for Green instead of this option.

Wow  Sucess!

Just moved from Midwest and nearly got passed by an octogenarian with two walking poles. Good eye- (amd lung-) opener for a beginner.
