| Parked at the winter TH at the ASARCO mine, slogged up the road to the Iowa Amphitheater. After summitting Gemini Peak in 40mph winds, continued over to Mt. Sherman in nice calm, 20-25mph winds. Wrapped up the hike with summitting Mt. Sheridan. Fun glissade back to Iowa Gulch. Great Solo day. | ||

| Fifth summit of the day. Four hours, twenty minutes from the bottom of the Dyer amphitheater to West Dyer to Dyer to Gemini to Sherman to Sheridan. Couldn't have asked for better weather in the midst of the monsoon. I'm also glad to have those peaks off my list since Iowa Gulch has to rank as among the least inspirational vistas in Colorado. Although, I guess it still beats the local views of the Maryland and Illinois cars I saw parked at the trailhead. | ||

| Spring was in the air on this awesome day. I didn't need my snowshoes for this one. I avoided snow whenever possible and blazed my own version of the route up the peak. I bumped into some cool folks who were unsuccesful at climbing Sherman (How do you fail on that one?) On the way down, the snow was melting on the road and was all mushy - post hole madness! I was regretting not bringing my snowshoes at this point. There is a bench made from rocks on the summit that is really cool, and inviting. What a day on the solo :) | ||

| Did this along with Dyer, Sherman, Gemini, Peerless and Horseshoe that day. Sheridan had the honor of being the steepest of the day. | ||

| I parked at the road closure and climbed the slopes above the Dauntless Mine and then skinned to the base of the SE slope. I packed my skis to the end of the snow, tagged the summit, and enjoyed a nice ski to the car. Windy day. | ||

| After summitting Sherman w/ a group from the CMC, we continued south from the saddle to climb Sheridan as well. The descent down the NE slopes took us back to our vehicles at Leavick. | ||

| Although it was windy and cold, the day turned out to be a great day for some time in the high country. Made the hike under clear skies with my wife and found very little snow above treeline. | ||

| The Memorial Day snowstorm was not exactly prime hiking weather. The snow was not so bad, but the wind was ferocious. Thus, I made it to the top of Sheridan, but fell short of my main destination, Mount Sherman, afraid the wind would blow me off the side of the mountain. | ||

| The weather still looked good, so I decided to climb Sheridan on the return from Sherman and Gemini. This was the toughest of the three peaks, thanks to the steep slope and loose talus. I got off the mountain just in time, for a storm was rolling in as I headed back to the trailhead. Then I drove back to Denver through one hell of a storm, with torrential rain and lightning striking all over South Park. | ||

| This mountain was my first high peak in Colorado so it has a lot of significance for me. We were going to do Mt. Sherman but the weather looked a little "ify" as we got on the saddle. I then mentioned ascending Sheridan instead to my climbing buddies and we all agreed. We had the summit to ourselves and the views were amazing. I'll definately be heading back to do Sheridan again and a lot of other peaks in the area! Wonderful mountain! | ||

| A nice summit, much more character than nearby Sherman. I took a delicious half hour nap on top! What a day. Headed over to Sherman and White Ridge afterwards | ||
