Alan, this is a very good page. Geat information for this prominent mountain. In my opinion, Sheridan actually takes on a more stately look than its popular neighbor Mt.Sherman.Your photos do a good job in describing the route as well.
Thanks for your vote and the tips. Funny you should mention the mining.... I am working on a "History" section concerning the mining and the Leavick site. When I get it all together I will add it.
Howdy neighbor! Cool page. Good directions to the Iowa Gulch TH. (Confusing at 3:00 AM and I've been meaning to rework the Sherman directions...) I like your mining section. You hit the jackpot with your link to the DPL Western History archive. Lots of great photos there. If interested, the ASARCO Mine has something of an online presence. There was a rumor going around that they were going to resume activities. Not sure how that would impact access.
Once again, nice page. Welcome to the Southern Mosquitos - where men are men, mountain goats are scared, and mountains are, well, ridges!
Nice job on the mining, which is a very important aspect of these mountains. The Iowa Gluch description is very good. Nothing has changed since I did it a very long time ago-early 80s I think. Photos are good.
Mt. Sheridan was an after-thought after doing Sherman. I also wanted to do Gemini, but everyone else was cold and wanted to hurry down. Thanks for the vote.
I was up there two weeks ago and Sheridan was on the hit list. After summiting Dyer, Gemini, and Sherman we were blown off the mountain so I will have to get it in another day.

Untitled CommentThanks for the vote. I'll fix the photo this evening. How about putting a link to Sheridan on your Sherman page. That would be great! Alan
