My first 14er, hope it's not my last. Think I did pretty well for an overweight and old flatlander from Indiana. Thanks to my new son-in-law, DJ, for showing me the way. I love you son.

Climbed with my ten year old son. His first fourteener. There were probably 100 people on the mountain this Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I was surprised at how late many of them were starting given the clouds forming.

Very windy, had it all to myself. Also climbed it 11/11/07 from Iowa Gulch en route to Gemini and Dyer- still windy. Climbed again from Iowa gulch with the whole family (Lauren's first 14er)- still windy!

Not exactly a wild mountain by any stretch, but enjoyable none-the-less. Never has a 90 Schilling tasted so good than at the summit :)

We had perhaps our most bizarre 14er experience ever on Sherman. As we were descending Sherman on our way to Gemeni, my wife & I approached a couple of people that were fixated on a large furry object on the ground. Hush my mouth & kiss my grits! it was a beaver about 20 of 30 feet from the summit of Sherman. This was extremely bizarre. At the end of the day we concluded that the rodent was carried up the mountain by a raptor of some description. It appeared injured/dazed.

This is one of Colorado's easiest 14ers.

Great climb in the winter. It was a blizzard the entire time. High winds and dumping snow.

I really like this mountain...I''m not sure why. I think Sherman is kind of underrated. 5th CO 14er.

My 1st 14er! I was foolish enough to make an easy fourteener moderate by climbing straight up a scree slope instead of taking the trail. Being from the east, I was out of breath on moderately steep scree with no place to rest! I was very happy once I got to the easier terrain of the summit ridge.

Easy but rocky trail. There are multiple ways to hike up this mountain.

Piece of cake for number 8. Up and down in shade over 2 hours with Shane and Peter. Old coal mines added a little flavor to this enjoyable hike. Great view of Democrat and and classic cirque. Everybody should do Sherman!

Started from the mine at the very bottom to make sure I did 3,000, decided that's my standard.

Route Climbed: Fourmile Creek via scree slope Date Climbed: July 3, 2005  Sucess!

Started at 7am, made the mistake of groggily following the first group up and ended up on a steep scree slope instead of the saddle. Probably saved a little time. We actually had the summit to ourselves for a few minutes! I think we saw 'myrone' at the top.

Route Climbed: From the mine, don't know what this is called?? Date Climbed: Sunday July 3, 2005  Sucess!

Got a late start, started up at 8:02AM. Reached the summit via scree-filled gully,(I didn't know any better, not bad) yet the fastest way to the top, summited at 9:20AM. Stayed about 18 mins then back down with lots of people coming up, glissaded going down, back to the car at 10:40AM, my 13th 14'er, sweet!!

Climbed with my buddy JFA. We encountered high winds from the saddle to the summit, but overall this was a straightforward and relatively easy hike.
