West Face Direct  Sucess!

The west side of Silverthrone has a fairly benign approach as glaciers go in the Alaska Range. Yet it's a long haul from Wonder Lake. This is the steep side of the mountain with a plethora of steep gullies going up the face. Only 2 lines are safe from hanging seracs, however. We climbed the most direct line straight up to the summit. AI 3 snow to 60 degrees
A fantastic climb! We accomplished it as a 2 week trip humping our 90lb packs all the way from Wonder Lake.
