| Very beautiful on the way up with all the wildflowers! The rock is a little loose, but it is well worth the journey! | ||

| My first 14er with my wife as a married couple! Somewhere around #46 overall I think ... one of my favorite Colorado adventures yet. | ||

| Headed up from Blue Lakes, went up the south ridge, summited and waited for the rest of the group. Beautiful day! We then headed down Lavender Couloir and over to the lakes. I've gone up from Yankee Boy Basin and Blue Lakes is by far the best way to go and the Ridge is very fun! | ||

| Jathan Cantu reached the summit at 11:00 am. My wife, Janna made it to 13,200' before heading back--not bad for her very first high altitude climb. I was surrounded by clouds on the summit which cleared only briefly for some distant panoramic views. The hike up the boulder couloir was cool, literally, and the scramble to the summit after "squeezing" through the V-notch was easy. The summit area was tiny, however, compared to many others. On the downclimb, the sun broke through and made for another perfect day for my 4th 14'er. | ||

| Failed once last year on this and came back for another try. Made quick time up the road and up the first gully. Lavender Col is a lot of loose dirt and scree and it's better to stay farther left if you can as there is more solid talus. The 2nd gully is easy and the V-notch is overrated as a move. We made the summit in about 3 hours. | ||

| First anniversary excursion for novice hikers turned out to be the one that hooked us! We hiked from just above Camp Bird Mine after taking our VW rabbit as high as we could get it. Incredible wildflowers and then the view from the top... Went back this summer (near our 16th anniversary) and got within striking distance at the trailhead with our 6- and 9-year olds, but will have to wait a year to get them back to the top... | ||

| My sons, Troy & Patrick along with Molly the mt mutt, climbed Mt Sneffels on a rainy cloudy morning. We were the first to summit unless the two before us climbed it in one hour. If they did then we were the second to summit. We were on the summit alone which is unusal for Sneffels. We could not get a view of anything but clouds. The scree was bothersome but what's new. I'm sure glad they did all those improvements on the trail. This is Molly's second and my third time. Pat's & Troy's first. No register on the summit. | ||

| The day started out with a steady drizzle but finally let up around 9am. The Lavender Col route was a bit muddy so we stayed to the side on the rocks as much as possible. There are spots of snow in convienent places for an occasional snowball.... It was a great climb, the clouds even lifted every now and then to let us see the surrounding area. One problem though.....There was no summit log. We searched around for it and no luck. Lots of pens had fallen under the summit cairn, but no log. If you climb this route, watch out for excessive erosion on the way up to the saddle. Try to stay on the bigger rocks and not slide down the fine stuff. | ||

| Second ascent of Sneffels, but the first by this route. This was one of the best 14er routes I've ever done. Snow was perfect and the weather cooperated until I was off the summit. Great Route! | ||
