A fine scramble with the caveat that you stay on the ridge proper. (The north side of the ridge is full of glacier debris and is ugly unstable.) Pleasantly surprised to find a few class 4 moves near the summit (right on the crest of the ridge).

Did this as a side trip as part of a JMT thru hike that included lots of extra peaks. Went up with another JMT soloist - a 68 year old female peak bagger named Nancy. Couldn't believe how she just kept up with me the whole time thru the uneven and loose talus. Easy class 2 if you happen to be at Muir Pass.

Class 2 from Muir Pass
Climbed during the third day of the Lamarck Col/Bishop Pass loop. I ascended via the north from Muir Pass. I wrote "Josh Lewis wishes he was here." on the register.
Ascended south ridge from Ionian Basin (used as exit instead of Wanda Pass -- only 600' difference). Descended via north face west of Muir Pass. Peak #9 on JMT adventure.
