Summit Ridge
I climbed this twice before driving up Evans. I wish I could comment on the view I had, but it was raining, then sleeting, then snowing. I love Colorado weather! :) Even in the rain, it was a fun short hike. Next time, I hope to go on to Gray Wolf.

Spalding is best when combined with some other peaks, Gray Wolf, Warren, and Rogers was what we did

Too bad Spalding's saddle doesn't rise 300 ft. or more from Evans...than it'd be an official summit. It was still worth visiting!

Had to step aside and let some mountain goats get by on the ridge. Total ascents = 2.

Climbed Spalding from Summit Lake as part of the Mount Evans Loop route after work last Thursday. I left work at my usual time, and started the hike at 7:00. I made it back to my car at 10:00, but I didn't take the direct ridge descent back to the lake, instead opting to follow the Evans Road's path back to the lake.

From Guanella PassThe climber's trail through the willows off the main Bierstadt trail seems to be slowly improving, but it's still impossible to keep your feet dry.
