Mt. Spokane  Sucess!

Parked at the first lodge and hiked straight up the ski run with my dog. I've looked at the mountain almost everyday of my life from my house in Idaho, but this was the first time I'd made it up there. Definitely no lack of people that drove to the summit.

Snowshoed Up Twice (in 2004 & 2007)  Sucess!

I snowshoed up Mt. Spokane twice now (once on Dec 18, 2004 with my son's Boy Scout troop, and once by myself on March 1, 2007). We parked by the Selkirk Lodge parking lot, and hiked STRAIGHT NORTH up the south slope of the ski slope. Nobody said anything, so we just hiked along the edge of the ski run. The views to the east (into Idaho) are great.

Hike, Drive, & Chairlift  Sucess!

I've been to the top about a Brazillion times. Actually hiked it a few times with my ski gear too. After the lifts close we hiked straight up to the summit under Chair 1 hauling our skis and post holing in the soft spring snow.

Great Training  Sucess!

The first time I climbed Mount Spokane was 2002, But since than I have used it as my training mountain for my Idaho trips. I climb it at lest once a month sometimes more. I have climbed in every month and in all kinds of weather conditions. There is lots of access point to keep it from getting to borring.

Quite a few times  Sucess!

Rode my mountain bike up to the top once from the lodge area, also driven it a few times, and rode down trails and fire roads during a race.

Good for training  Sucess!

Discounting all the times I've driven to the top & skiied there over the decades, I've also hiked cross-country to the summit for training, & to teach friends snow skills.

The weirdest time was ~March 1995, suddenly coming upon scraps of metal, wiring, pilot logs, medical debris & other detrious -- then realizing we had stumbled onto the site where a poor man had crashed into the mountain during a fierce snowstorm the precious October. The crash site had long been cleaned up...but items, including his keys, were still melting out.

Drive Up  Sucess!

I tagged this drive up on the same day as Abercrombie and 2 CoHP's in Idaho. Great views. A little hazy though.

Spokane  Sucess!

Well, I'm a peak whore so I'm adding it anyway even though I drove the thing.

To make up for that sin, I offer the following trivia question: Which 4 summits in WA are COHPs, COGPPs, P2000 and former (and current actually) fire lookout sites?

South side  Sucess!

Picked a spot just inside the State Park boundary to stretch the effort out and got in some good conditioning.

Up the ski hill  Sucess!

This was my tenth overall county highpoint in my new pursuit and probably the one where I didn't expect that I'd have to hike to get it. It was a 1600 foot hike up the ski hill and me wishing I'd brought my skiis so I could ski down. Actually a fun hike and a good conditioner. Mt. Spokane is a local treasure.

Mount Spokane  Sucess!

I've driven to the top of this mountain many times, skiied several times, and hiked from the top and down some trails.
