| Went early in morning, not so crowded and had summit to ourselves. On way down passed hurds of people heading up. A not so hard hike with great views. | ||

| Peak Baguette | My first "real" summit ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 10, 2006 | |
| A kind stranger coaxed me into summiting (thank you, stranger!) I also met "1000 Peaks" at the summit. Way better than the view from my couch! Tallac inspired me to explore more peaks! | ||

| emilie | Glen Alpine from Aloha Lake ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 8, 2006 | |
| Hiked up from Aloha Lake where I was camping w/a few friends. Made for a long day, but the views from the top are worth it! There were a few suspicious clouds in the sky, so when my hair started standing straight up, the ~20(!) people at the summit high-tailed it down in a stampede. | ||

| Another training climb with Vendulka - hauled 40-60 lbs packs... great weather and actually fun snow climb. I never get tired of the views from the summit. | ||

| August 2003: It's an easy walk-up, but I really enjoyed it. The wildflowers were great and the views were equally good. | ||

| Went with a firend who claimed to know the way, and lied; bushwhacked the first third, then found a trail. Very mellow, very beautiful. Watch out for flys. | ||

| (August 2, 2008) Climbed from Lily Lake TH as part of a traverse over to Dicks Peak and Jacks Peak. (January 8, 2006) Great weather the entire day. Almost no wind at all. Did the entire thing with snow shoes, however there was some pretty solid ice on the exposed face leading up to the back side of Tallac. | ||

| 96avs01 | Route Climbed: SE Chutes Date Climbed: December 4, 2005 ![]() | |
| After bailing on the NE ridge due to insufficent snow and way too much bushwacking, we hiked/snowshoed the SE Chutes to the summit. Spent the night on the South ramp at ~8800' and tagged the summit in the morning. | ||

| k2link | Route Climbed: Stanford camp spur/Mt Tallac trail to Glen Alpine Date Climbed: October 22, 2005 ![]() | |
| My girlfriend JoAnn and I did this as a loop. Leaving our car at the Glen Alpine Trailhead, we walked back down the road to Stanford Sierra Camp. Climbed the steep, brushy trail from Stanford camp to join the main Tallac trail just short of Cathedral Lake. Had a great hike to the summit, then returned to the Glen Alpine trailhead via Gilmore Lake. Beautiful fall day, only marred by a little smoke from a controlled burn. | ||

| A nice day hike up from Lake Tahoe. The views from the top are awesome with the whole desolation wilderness to the west and Lake Tahoe to the east. The summit pyramid is a nice little scramble. This looks like it would be great in the winter. | ||

| Great hike all around. Only problem was all the scree to hike on but well worth it. Great view of Tahoe and Desolation Wilderness up top. | ||

| Kerstin | Route Climbed: from Gilmore Lake Date Climbed: August 2002 | |
| A short hike from Gilmore Lake, I really enjoyed the view from the top. I would have lingered for hours if it wasn't for the fifteen or so Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrels trying to crawl up my legs to eat my food! I hiked up it again with my husband and friend Paul, via the Cathedral Lake Trail in November of 2005. There was still snow from the previous winter! One more time...May 12, 2007 | ||

| My buddy Brad and I did this as a warmup to Shasta. We climbed the large hidden gully directly east of the summit, then climbed the East ridge that joins with the south slope. We glisaded the chute that is south of the East Ridge. Route Climbed: trail Date Climbed: August, 1999 Caught the sunrise on Lake Tahoe from the top with my brother as part of a short backpacking trip. | ||
