Mount Temple

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Mount Temple
Mount Temple from an ascent of its neighbor to the southeast, Pinnacle Mountain, June 24, 2006, Banff National Park. This photo is the best perspective I have seen of the Alpine I scramble route up this 11,000er. Just about the only mountain of the 54 11,000ers in the Canadian Rockies that you can scramble to the top of. This is a popular route and objective.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
