Well, that's how I did it but the fact that you hiked this one from the base gives the mountain credibility. A friend and I had done Mt. Wow (near Mt. Rainier)last summer and on the way to do Mt. Stone, we added a drive up of Mt. Walker to our itinery. The fact that they built a road to the top in no way takes away from its uniqueness. The trail is the way to truly enjoy it and you've done a nice job to present Mt. Walker that way.
