| 120 miles of visibility...only the second day this year! In talking to locals they said that many of them had been up Washington multiple times and NEVER had a day like that. From Washington on to the rest of the northern Presidentials with a stopover at the Madison Hut. | ||

| Ilafan | Hondas not wanted--GOOD! ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 13, 2006 | |
| How could I not be successful? They wouldn't let me drive it, and my knees were aching from Mansfield and Marcy. So, I decided to drive this one. However, they wouldn't allow Hondas on the mountain. It seems my Civic doesn't have a first gear, and coming down would have ruined my beaks. So the good folks at Honda paid my way. I love Honda. On the top, it was cold, windy, and very interesting. Great experience. | ||

| Koonsy | Route: Tuckermans to Lions head | |
| Wet day. Tucks trail was a nice easy start before the transition to Lions Head where the hike got steep and to much fun. As we got passed the alpine garden we went up a snow field and lost track of the trail and were forced to turn back. Upon finding another way up, my partner refused to push on. great views of Tuckermans ravine. Great Mountain. Can't wait to go back and give it another shot. | ||

| fourty2 | Lion's Head Date Climbed: Jan 15, 2006 | |
| Climbed with the OSU mountaineering club. Made it to Lion's Head. The wind was so strong past there that the leaders were blown over while scouting it. Really wet my appitite for some more peaks. Wasn't technical but got some experience with Ice axe and crampons. The river at the bottom of the trail was beautiful. | ||

| Very icy in sections up to tree line. I had to turn back at the Upper Lion's Head with one of our guides and another team member. I did not have the stamina to complete the climb, although I had worked hard to prepare. I handled the weather much better than I would have expected and truly enjoyed the experience dispite needing to turn back. | ||

| Bear Claw | Climbed with the Summit Fox ![]() Date Climbed: Feb 25, 2006 | |
| Alpine start with Summit Fox joining us in the Pinkham Notch parking lot. He took off before us and left us a trail of prints up to the summit. Snow was knee to thigh deep in areas as we broke trail to summit. On top was -2 (approx) w/26mph winds. Another phenomenal day on Mt W in the winter. | ||

| jaygeekray | Finally Made It !! ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 10, 2002 | |
| A couple previous trips up to the White Mtns were cancelled. We finally got a 4 day window in the schedule and drove up from Western PA. Got a late start (9:30-10ish) due to morning drizzle. My 12 and 14 year old sons both made it up Ammonoosuc trail to the top, but only the 14 year old was up to tackling Tuckerman Ravine trail back down. Younger son went back down in the Van with Mom and little sis (one advantage of the road to the top-well that and the chili in the cafeteria). Long day, but well worth it !!! | ||
