Huntington  Sucess!

Really enjoyed the scramble from the top of the scree... a great little climb and from the top... there was a dusting of snow and views as far as the eye could see... what more could I ask for?

Many facets of Mt. Washington  Sucess!

I've climbed Washington many ways, starting as an 8 year old via the Great Gulf, via the Presidential Traverse, via the Lion's Head Winter Route, via Pinnacle Gully Ice, etc. It's like a home away from home in the Northeast...there's certainly something for everyone.

Summer via Lion's Head  Sucess!

Great weather other than the almost perennial clouds covering the summit. There was relatively little traffic on the trail but the cars, roads, and buildings at the summit made it somewhat disappointing. We got a late start so much of the hike down was in the dark. Anyways, I'm looking forward to giving it another go this winter.

Hot, Humid, Hazy  Sucess!

Went up the Boott Spur and avoided most of the crowds. Also had a good view of the mountain on the way up. Summit was a zoo.

Psuedo Presidential circuit  Sucess!

Some friends and I hiked in and made our own camp on the Eastern side of a large stream then connected with the Six Husbands trail up Jefferson then 'reverse-traversed' to Adams and Madison, and back around to Washington. An out-of-the-way approach, but love the 6-husbands trail. Had an epic hike down Washington in the fog. Were walking down the cog-railway tracks which are raised 3-8 feet in most places but were told that the cog wasn't running until we heard the horn but didn't know whether it was coming up or going down and of course we were over a steep drop off 8ft off the ground and couldn't see more than 10ft in the fog. We all ended up jumping off the tracks seconds before the train appeared coming up. Reminded me of 'Stand By Me'! Fun day. Came back years later and skiied Tucks in '02.

Solo Climb on Mount Washington  Sucess!

Climbed solo to Mount Washington summit under poor, cold, and very windy conditions via the Lion Head winter route. I didn't see anyone on the mountain until I reached the summit. Only three of us were on the summit.

Fog  Sucess!

Climbed up the Crawford path in nice overcast weather. At Lake of the Clouds, it started raining, then a little later we were in a cloud. Visibility was sometimes less than 30 feet. It was pretty cool. 6 hr trip.

40 mph winds made the summit rather chilly up top, beautiful day overall with crowded summit and trails up.

Birthday Summit!  Sucess!

Ascended via Ammonoosuc Ravine-what a great trail! Weather turned bad after stopping at Lake of the Clouds Hut. Slogged to the summit soaked to the bone, decided to play it safe and took the cog back down. HP #3. Loved it!

Easter on Washington  Sucess!

Relatively short climb from Harvard cabin only about 3 hours round trip. Very cold and windy above tree line I think there were 80mph winds that day. Still a good way to spend Easter.
