Mount Wilbur and Ptarmigan Lake

As you trudge up the switchbacks to Ptarmigan Tunnel (they're really not too bad), compensate for the strain by occasionally stopping to look back at the grand scene unfolding. Mount Wilbur is one of the iconic peaks of the Many Glacier area and really of the entire park. It is a Class 5 climb to reach the summit, with a lot of loose rock and exposure.
