Mount Wyrszgóra - Our hike – July 19, 2013

Chicory (Cichorium intybus – in Polish: Cykoria) is a perennial that can grow up to 1 meter in height. It is common in the lower sections of mountains and blooms from July to September. The medicinal properties of Chicory tonic have been known since ancient times. This herb helps the functions of liver and gall bladder. It has also been mentioned as a special skin nourisher by ancient herbalists. A tea made from the pale blue flowers of this plant was said to give glowing skin. The Low Beskid - Our hike: Jasionka - Mount Wyrszgóra - Mount Płonska, Mount Pachanowa - Cergowa.
