Mount Zamczyska - Our hike – September 6, 2014

Hedgehog mushroom also known as Wood Hedgehog - Polish: Kolczak (Hydnum repandum or Dentinum repandum) is common in Polish forests. It can be found from July to November. Its cap is from 2 to 17 cm wide and its colors range from pale orange to tan. The most characteristic features of this mushroom are the spines on its underside. The spines can be up to 6 mm long. Hedgehog mushrooms are edible, but are only tasty when fresh. The Low Beskid – Rymanów Zdrój.
