Overview

Four peaks in Western Tatras, namely:
Ciemniak: 2096 m asl
Krzesanica: 2122 m asl
Malolaczniak: 2096 m asl
Kopa Kondracka: 2004 m asl
are located in Polish Tatra National Park (TPN) and Slovak TANAP. These are first (from East) high peaks in Western Tatras.
Gentle slopes are undercut in northern parts; that makes them easy for hikers and interesting for climbers (on nowdays climbing forbidden). The easiest routes are 0- (walking path). The shortest trip takes about 7 hrs, and the longest will take whole day.
Built by limestones covered by granites Czerwone Wierchy are one of the most complicated massives in Tatra Mts.

Getting There

From Zakopane to Kuznice, Krzeptowki or Kiry by bus. Then about 2-3 h. through one of big valleys: Koscieliska, Malej Laki or Bystrej. For climbers also interesting is Mietusia Valley (for now entry strictly forbidden, strict reserve).

Red Tape

Czerwone Wierchy lay in strict reserve - hiking ONLY on marked routes.
Very strict regulations - do not climb, camp or disturb the nature - national park.

When To Climb

August-September are the best, also good other months, in June - July frequent t-storms.

Camping

There are huts in:
Koscieliska Valley
Bystrej Valley (Kondratowa)
also mountain hotel Kalatowki,
many camp sites in Zakopane.
Camping in TPN forbidden.
