Overview


Tronador is one of most famous Argentinian Mountian. Situated on the Nauhel Huapi national park on the Argentinian Patagonian, Tronador is one of the mos beautifull mountains in Andes.
The name Tronador came because the noise of thunder that it glaciar makes when it happen an avalanche. Tronador is known as the mountain that most have glaciars in the world, there are eight!
Tronador is also a school for the argentinian. The ice conditions are good and the Club Andino de Bariloche made it as it school camp.
There is two summis in the Mountain, the easyest one is the argentinian, the technical e dificult one is the international, that makes boundarie with Chile.

Getting There


To get there you must take a flight to Bariloche from Buenos Aires, or a Bus that takes 20 hours from the Bus station of Buenos Aires (Via Bariloche is the better company!)
In Bariloche you must take a van that will leave you to Pampa Linda, in the middle of the National park, where the approx start.
You can take that van on the Club Andino de Bariloche, or looking fot some travel aggencies (the prices are about 3 or 4 US$)

Red Tape


No permiss are required. The only thing you have to do is when you arrive on the national park, you must assign a term of responsability on the guarda parque office.

When To Climb


The best season is from December to March

Camping


There is two refugees on Tronador, the most visited is The Otto Meiling, that is situated on the base camp of the normal routes.
It cost 10 peses per people, +/- 4 US$.
You also can camp outside the refugee for free. There are good places to put you tent, and the water is good.
