NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT
Nature has been particularly kind to this area; thick woods, flowery meadows, crystal clear waters, rich flora and fauna on the mountains, fertile fields and hills that enjoy both sunshine and beautiful viws. The Autonomous Province of Trento has taken steps to protect the environment so if you genuinely love nature, respect and take care to observe the regulations in force.
Cima Dodici Chain a brief explanation
The Cima Dodici is the highest mountain of the Chain. It?‹is located in the south east part of Trentino, in "Altipiani-CAtena di cima dodici", between Rovereto and Calliano, , it belongs for a short stretch to Lagarina Valley this area is ruled over Monte Finocchio.you can reach it from the plateau of Folgaria, between Terragnolo and Vigolana north. On the left u can follow the way from Carbonare to Trento. in the south part the mountains turn around to the Valsugana with severe slopes, very difficult to climb..then you find the next plateau call Sette Comuni in the south part in veneto region. however in province of Trent remain the top of Dodici chain. If you travel along this chain u can watch on your left the South part of Trentino and Lagorai chain and on your right the Plateau of Asiago. this plateau is famaous for its cheese producation, in fact in the area there are a lot of alpine farms where are still use the practise of alpine summer grazing.

211 or 231. after 3 hours you arrive at a alpine hut, call Baita delle buse di dodici. it?‹s a perfect place to have a break. then you follow again the path number 211, after half hour you are on the top of Cima Dodici. then you can follow the path number 206 to reach Cima Undici and Cima Ortigara, famous mountains during the first world war, theatre of a lot of bloody battles, italian versus austrian solders. infact here if you are lucy it?‹s possible find inexploded bombs and bullets.
Some difficulties and when to climb
Some difficulties on the "trappole " valley, there are some iron chains for helping your climb. if you have a dog is not easy to reach the top, better take care, ad be careful. remember the wide different in high. In Fact from car parking to the top there are 2,000 meters of different, only for trained alpinists and with the equipment for iron chains and stairs.
The best season is summer,, the path in the "trappole" Valley is not practicable during the winter season in order to avoid the ice produce from the smelting of the snow. i advise during the race down it's better follow the path number 206 to reach montain Ortigara and to go down to Olle(where is the car parking) Remember it' very long but go back from the same path in Trappole Walley in descent it' s dangerous and by "rifugi and Bivacchi del Trentino"s book is not adviseble.
