Overview

Bridge Point is located on the massive Bridge Mountain in Red Rock Canyon, just 20 miles from Las Vegas, NV. When most people think of Bridge Mountain they think of the dome, which is the high point on the mountain. Bridge Point sits just east of the dome. It's a neat peak with great views. For many local hikers this is one of their favorite peaks in Red Rock Canyon

Getting There

From Vegas take Charleston Blvd. west to Red Rock Canyon. At some point Charleston Blvd. becomes State Route 159.
Depending where you turn onto Charleston Blvd. it could be from five to 20 miles before the signed turnoff to Red Rock Canyon.

Red Tape

No permits for day hiking. Since the trailhead is located on the Scenic Loop Road, you have to pay the enterance fee: $5 per car or $20 for a yearly pass.
Golden Eagle Pass accepted. Make sure to be out of the park before closing time to avoid getting a $50 ticket. They call it a park, not me!
Scenic Loop Road closing times:
April 1st through October 31st: 8 pm
November 1st through February 28th: 5pm
March: 7pm

Camping

Yes, at the 13 mile campground. From the intersection of 215 and Charleston Blvd. drive 3.3 miles and turn left onto Moenkopi Road. Camping is $10 per night. You will still have to buy the Red Rock pass ($5.00 per car or $20 for a yearly pass). You can camp for free above the 5,000 foot level, though you need a back country permit. Call 515-5350 for permits.
