Aiguille de l'M

Overview

When standing in Chamonix and looking up at the amazing skyline, you will find the Aiguille de l'M at the far left. Shaped like an M. In fact it is at the end of the ridge formed by the Grand Charmoz and the Petit Charmoz.
It's an enjoyeble peak, not to high, but with some very nice routes. Because of it's low altitude this peak lends itself perfectly for a short day or when the weather is doubtfull.

Getting There

The foot of the face (blue circle) can be reached easily in 2h either from Plan l'Aiguille of Montenvers.
From the Plan de l'Aiguille (yellow line) station follow the path north (downhill) to the Chalet du Plan de l'Aiguille. From here follow the trail Grand Balcon Nord towards Le Montenvers. After apr. 2,5 km's take a narrow path to the right. From this point you can clearly see the Aiguille de l'M.
From Montenvers (green line) you reach the same point by taking the the Grand Balcon Nord wich starts at the Montenvers hotel. Go around Signal Forbes (or over it) and once you are around go left up the narrow path alongside the Frêtes des Charmoz.
From here follow the path uphill.
