OverviewCrossman Peak is the highest point in the Mojave Mountains. This large desert peak towers high above Lake Havasu City and the Colorado River. A scenic desert backcountry road called the Crossman Peak Trail traverses along the east side of the mountain, and there are some radio towers near the summit. Other than that, Crossman Peaks appears to be a mostly unknown mountain. With an elevation of 5,100', Crossman Peak ranks way down on the Arizona elevation list. But the new field of Prominence has made Crossman Peak a more important mnountain. With a prominence of 3,120', Crossman Peak is big enough to make an appearance on the Arizona Prominence Map.
Getting ThereFrom the end of Bison Blvd on the far east end of Lake Havasu City, drive to the end of the pavement. This is where the houses end, and the road turns to dirt. Start driving east up the mountain on the dirt road. Continue up the generally good road for 2.7 miles until you reach a fork in the road at 2,300'. You will now be in Falls Springs Wash. The right fork heads for a dry waterfall. The left fork heads up to the radio tower facility. If you want to climb Crossman, this would be a good place to start. Otherwise, you can turn left and drive further up the road towards the radio towers. More detailed directions are attached.
