Roda di Vačl belongs to the Catinaccio group and its subgroups: it's one of the most famous and frequented places in the Dolomites mountains ,take a look here of the complete description and history of the Dolomites. These mountains are famous for their beauty and vertical towers and all fantastic summits and views and for climbing and hiking too.:) The group is situated between the province of Trento and Bolzano and its boundaries are to the est from Fiemme Valley, to north-west from the Sciliar and Durňn Valley, to west from Nova Levante and to south from the Costalunga Pass ( Karer Pass). Arriving here It's easy and you can start your trip from these places in Fiemme Valley,Vigo di Fassa, Pozza di Fassa, Pera. Campitello e Mazzin di Fassa : on foot or with chair-lift. In the southern side of the Catinaccio lies the Roda di Vačl subgroup with its peaks and passes: Cime delle Coronelle 2781m., Sforcella 2810m.,Vaiolon Pass, Mugoni 2734m. and the famous Roda di Vačl 2806m. with its red wall, at its side: the Roda del Diavolo and Masarč Crest.It is accessible from Costalunga Pass 1758m. La roda di Vačl fa parte del gruppo del Catinaccio e dei suoi sottogruppi: uno dei piů famosi gruppi dolomitici tra i piů frequentati per la sua spettacolaritŕ di cime e torri ardite situato tra le province di Trento e Bolzano. Il gruppo č racchiuso nel perimetro formato ad est dalla Val di Fassa , Dallo Sciliar e dalla Val di Durňn a nord -ovest, gli alpeggi di Nova Levante ad ovest, il Passo di Costalunga a sud. Vi si accede partendo sia dalle localitŕ trentine vicine : Vigo di Fassa, Pozza di Fassa, Pera. Campitello e Mazzin di Fassa, sia con gli impianti di risalitŕ. Nel settore meridionale del Catinaccio,accessibile dal Passo di Costalunga 1758m.( Karer Pass), tra il Passo Sforcella e la Gran Busa di Vačl, tra il Passo di Vaiolon e il Passo di Costalunga si estende il sottogruppo del Vačl con le Cime delle Coronelle 2781m.,la Sforcella 2810m., i Mugoni 2734m. e soprattutto la famosa Roda di Vačl 2806m. con la sua strapiombante parete gialla e rossa, al sua fianco la Roda del Diavolo e la Cresta del Masarč.Qui tra miti e leggende i piů famosi alpinisti hanno compiuto le loro ascese.

Ferrate Vie Ferrate Via attrezzata del Masarč - it start from the Refuge Roda di Vačl and go through the crest's towers of Masarč (time: 3 ore) Via attrezzata alla Roda di Vačl :it start from the Refuge Roda di Vačl through the path 541 till the Vaiolon Pass 2560m. and then along the crest of Roda di Vačl Via attrezzata del Masarč che parte dal Rifugio Roda di Vačl e passa tra le torri della cresta del Masarč (tempodi percorrenza: 3 ore) Percorso attrazzato alla Roda di Vačl : dal Rifugio Roda di Vael per il sentiero 541 fino al Passo del Vaiolon 2560m. e qui lungo la cresta nord della Roda di Vačl RoutesThe western side of Roda di Vačl is also knows as Rotwand because its colors at susnset.Start Starting to the eastern side of Costalunga Pass (Karer Pass) and go through the mule track that climbs till the Christomannos eagle monument and the track of Masarč 459.From here you can go in the direction of the Refuge Roda di Vačl ( east side) or in the direction of the Refuge Paolina (west side) Ring Route You can catch the chair lift at Carezza and reach the Refuge Paolina 2120m. or take the track starting from Costalunga Pass and that arrive to the eagle bronze monument (path 549). Then from the Refuge Roda di Vael you continue and you arrive at the foot of the imposing east face of the Roda di Vačl till a junction (path 541,551), turn left and enter the canal in front of you ( very steep). After this climb, the trail goes west and leads to the Passo Vaiolon 2560m. Then you must go downhill on the west slope (path 551) and one ladder help you passing easier in the rocks then the flat tack go to the Masarč trail that connect the Refuge Fronza to the Coronelle and the Refuge Roda di Vačl . Then turn left (path 552) and continue till the Refuge Paolina.From this last path you can admire the west face of the Roda di Vačl and its 400 metrčs of rock. Roda di Vačl tour From the Refuge Roda di Vačl follow the path 541 and then the path 551 that leads you to the Vaiolon Pass ( through a steep groove).When you arrive at the Vaiolon Pass you can climb to the north crest of the Roda di Vačl and go down (south side9 tll the Croz of S. Giuliana or Torre Finestra ( Window Tower) Roda di Vačl La sua parete occidentale č anche nominata Rotwand per il suo colore specie al tramonto. Ad est del Passo di Costalunga si imbocca una strada bianca sterrata che si inerpica lungo erte pendici fino al sentiero Masarč 549 e al monumento Theodor Christomannos. Da qui si puň proseguire ad est verso il Rifugio Roda di Vačl o ad overst , sentiero 539 verso il Rifugio Paolina 2125m. Dal Rifugio Roda di Vačl 2275m. si segue il sentiero 541 e poi si prosegue con il sentiero 551 fino al Passo del Vaiolon 2560m da qui si accede alla cresta nord della Roda, il percorso č attrezzato con funi metalliche e si scende lungo il versante sud fino al Croz di S.Giuliana o Torre Finestra. Traversata della Roda di Vačl con percorso ad anello. Partenza dal Rifugio Paolina 2125m. si segue il sentiero 552 che porta al Passo del Vaiolon, al bivio con il sentiero 551 si sale lungo un canalone ghiaioso in parte attrezzato fino al Passo 2560m. Si prosegue sul sentiero 551 fino alla Gran Busa di Vačl fino ad incontrare il sentiro 541 che conduce alle Zigolade e Ciampedie.Si prosegue sul sentiero 551 che condurrŕ al Rifugio Roda di Vačl e quindi il ritorno al punto di partenza sul sentiero 549.
