OverviewExtreme climbing on the Lake of Garda
The great contrast with the grey rocks and the emerald water of the lake
In the splendid frame of the Garda lake there are some spaces for free climbing: example the Mount Baldo and Alpi di Ledro. The Corno di Bò and Spiaggia delle Lucertole are one of the famous places where go people that like free climbing. The wall of Spiaggia is a precipice on the lake. The slabby rock consists of white limestone and the routes are both fingery and technical. Access along the bottom of the crag is via a line of iron spikes that are just above the water level..
People can climbing all the year because the weather here is very fine.
Nella splendida cornice del Lago di Garda c'è anche uno spazio per il free climbing:il Corno di Bo, noto anche per la "Spiaggia delle lucertole", 2 km. a sud di Torbole, lungo la strada per Malcesine, è il luogo più frequentato dagli appassionati dell'arrampicata libera. Presenta una parete a strapiombo sul lago e uno scivolo di circa 200 m., con vie medio- facili di lunghezza varia, ottimamente chiodate (anelli resinati).
La Spiaggia delle lucertole ( storica falesia) offre una parete verticale a picco sul lago.Un ottimo calcare bianco e vie molto tecniche. Chiodatura: le vie sono attrezzate con spit (resinati). Difficoltà: si arrampica su placche verticali, piccoli buchi per le dita, molta aderenza e tecnica; le vie vanno dal 5+ al 7b+. Su molte vie si parte a pochi metri dall´acqua, sostando sui pioli di ferro.La falesia è stata attrezzata da R.Bassi, H.Mariacher, Manolo, L.Iovane.

Getting ThereLake Garda can easily be reached by all means of transport. The important motorways of northern Italy run parallel to Lake Garda and lead to Verona, Milan and Venice. To travel round Lake Garda you can use public buses which cover the whole region. Almost al towns on Lake Garda can also be reached via boat or ferry.

Riva del Garda can easily be reached from north and south along the Brennero state road 12 and the motorway A22 (exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di garda Nord, 15 km distance from the toll gate), then along the SS 240 state road. Coming from Trento along the SS 45/bis. Coming from the south/Lake Garda along the SS 249.
