Mount Ellen is a small peak in San Mateo County Memorial Park. It is most frequently visited by summer campers staying in San Mateo County Memorial Park or nearby Camp Loma Mar. The hike to the summit of Mount Ellen winds through a beautiful redwood forest.Getting ThereThe only way to the summit is by the Mt Ellen Summit Trail in San Mateo County Memorial Park. The park is on Pescadero Road, which you can reach from CA 1 or CA 84. The Mt Ellen Nature Trail trailhead is on Pescadero Road, right across the road from the park entrance. Take the Mt Ellen Nature Trail about 0.5 miles to the Mt Ellen Summit Trail. Continue along the Mt Ellen Summit Trail about 1 mile to the summit.Red TapeHorses, bikes, and dogs are not allowed.CampingSan Mateo County Memorial Park has several available camping options.
