Magnificent NW side of Bavan (2252 m) |
In the hearth of KOMOVI massif, on E from Medjukomlje (2171 m) pass is placed impressive Bavan (2252 m) peak. It's crest, similar with amazing Dolomites, are maybe the most beautiful in whole KOMOVI massif. Actually, the massif of Bavan is southern part of the massif of Kom Vasojevicki (2460 m). Bavan is placed on SE from Kom Vasojevicki (2460 m), on SW from Kom Kucki (2487 m), Stari Vrh (2483 m) and Kom Ljevorijecki (2469 m), on NE from Carine plateau, on NW from PROKLETIJE range. Bavan is situated at the edge of beautiful Medjukomlje (2171 m) pass, looking to north side of Kom Kucki (2487 m) and its wild rocky slopes. The massif of Bavan is on the N connected with massif of Kom Vasojevicki. Belowe main Bavan peak you can see its large and impressive rocky slopes. The cliffs of Bavan offers many challenges for rock climbing, because the summit of that peak you can't reach by marked path.

Summit View
Summit view from Bavan (2252 m) is very similar with many beautifully summit views of Julian Alps. Most impressive is view to Kom Kucki (2487 m), Kom Ljevorijecki (2469 m), Kom Vasojevicki (2460 m) and for sure to giant Prokletije massif with its highest peak Maja Jezerce (2694 m). Also, from Bavan summit you can see Visitor (2211 m) and Zeletin (2112 m).

Belowe the peaks of KOMOVI massif, on Stavna vasty plateau, you can find "Eko katun Štavna" (Ecological complex of houses for renting). There you have 10 houses for renting. Daily price for renting of one house is 40 Euro/8 Euro per person (each house has 5 beds, livingroom, bathroom and shower with warm water). Also, inside of Eko katun you can use the services of restaurant.
