OverviewWest Mountain Peak is the highest point in the Beaver Dam Mountains. This mountain range straddles the Utah-Arizona border near the city of Saint George. Certain areas of the range are located within the Beaver Dam Mountains Wilderness Area. Overshadowed by nearby Signal Peak, West Mountain Peak doesn’t attract many climbers. However, a large radio tower complex is located atop the mountain, so it does see some traffic. And with a prominence of 3,660’, it’s big enough to make an appearance on the Utah Prominence Map.
Getting ThereFrom the small town of Shivwits, drive south on a paved road to this unmarked road junction. You can also reach this point by taking the I-15 Littlefield Exit in Arizona. This paved road doesn't appear to have any numerical designation.
