Overview
Cima di Ball is an important mountain in the central sector of Pale di San Martino. It lies between Cima di Val di Roda, Campanile Pradidali and Sass Maòr. from which is separated by the saddle called Portòn. It presents a beautiful and interesting wall for climbers, the SW wall, that commands Val Cismòn.
The first ascent had done in 1869 by L. Stephen along the NW side, and this route became the actual normal route. This mountain is not very climbed, though the easiness ( 1st and 2nd degree ) of the normal route and the beauty of the view from its summit.
You must start from Pradidali Hut m 2278 and go to Passo di Ball m 2443.
Here you follow the signs of Via Ferrata Nico Gusella, go through the gravels at the base of Campanile Pradidali and go up along the valley that goes down from Furchetta Adele. Now the fixed ropes begin. You go on the right up to a little edge, go beyond it and enter into the groove near Cima di Val di Roda. Go up along it and reach Forcella Stephen m 2705. Now you go on the left and continue along the little ridge that goes towards the summit of Cima di Ball. You avoid on the left a little wall and continue along the ridge up to a terrace where the rock breaks in a succession of bold towers. You avoid them on the left traversing easily up to an exposed little edge, go beyond it and reach a ledge. Go down on the left along a little wall and then traverse. Now you reach the following rib, go up along it and easily you reach the summit. ( Report by Luca Visentini ).

Now you turn on the right following the road that leads to Passo Cereda, arrive to a cross and turn on the left following the signs to Cant del Gal, where there are two very beautiful little hotels. Here the path to Pradidali Hut begins. Following the signs with the number 709 you go up easily reaching after 3 hours the Hut.
