OverviewVertigo view, so named because the climber who summits this small fin gets an excellent view of the classic route "Vertigo" next to the Outer Outlet, lies between the Inner and Outer Outlets at Sylvan Lake.
Getting ThereWhen you arrive at Sylvan Lake and pay the park entrance fee, you will see a parking lot straight in front of you next to the Sylvan Lake store and the boat rental shack. This is your starting point. Set out on the lakeside trail from the lot and go straight, staying on the west side of the lake. Before the trail goes downhill to weave between the rocks at the end of the lake, a side trail branches off to the left to join up with a section of paved road after about 30 ft.. Take the road up and over a small rise. As you come down from the rise, you will see a pair of brown buildings facing each other across a gravel parking area. Follow the trail past the buildings staying to the right. Now look right as you continue down the hill in the woods. You will see a gap between to rock formations that is blocked by a small stone wall. Continue past this to the next gap between formations just a few yards ahead. Here a path branches right. Take this for about 50 feet to the first branch going left. Take this left branch and proceed under the branches of a large pine and up the hill. At the apex, you will find yourself on a small flat area between two rock formations. Look right: this is the Inner Outlet with the route Classic Crack running up to its summit. Look left: this is Vertigo View.
