Overview

Geographical Classification: Eastern Alps - Mürzsteger Alps

Hohe Veitsch is the highest mountain of the Mürzsteger Alpen - located in Styria. The main summit is on westward end a plateau (distance approx. 4 km from east to west) and offers a wide panoramic view to the eastern alps.
Veitsch is a well known ski touring moutain, but also offers nice hikes in summer.

Orientation might be difficult on the plateau under bad weather conditions.

Getting There

by public transport: IMHO quite a challenge: Verbundlinie might be helpful

by car:
North Side:
Niederalpl can be reached via Mürzzuschlag - Mürzsteg or via Kapfenberg - Seewiesen (from north via Mariazell - Gußwerk)

South Side:
from Mitterdorf/Mürztal via Veitsch to the ski resort Brunntal.
