"Ruby Mesa" , Sierra Nevada, John Muir Wilderness

"Ruby Mesa", unnamed on topo, is a high plateau on "Ruby Ridge" along the Sierra crest west of Little Lakes Valley. It is approached from the Mesquito Flat trail head at the end of the Rock Creek road west of Toms Place off of Hwy. 395. Take the Mono Pass trail. At 11,800' when the trail turns right up to the pass, drop left into a hanging valley. Cross west over a talus field then a snow slope and climb the class 3 northeast slope. Go south across the sandy plateau to the summit.
