OverviewKeller Peak is a sport climbing area pioneered by Troy Mayr, Rob Mulligan Dave Robinson, Brad Singer, John Cardmon, Chris Miller, and others. It offers nonexistant-to-quick approaches to many high quality routes on excellent San Bernadino granite. Climbing season is typically from late fall to late spring, depending on snowfall.
The two most popular places to climb on Keller Peak are the Hungover Wall, and Children's Forest, which has a variety of walls, with easier routes than on Hungover.
Keller Peak Road offers access to many small crags, mostly lying to the north of the road in the first mile or so before reaching the Children's Forest parking lot.
Topos and other information for the area can be found in Troy Mayr's Southern California Sport Climbing guidebook.Getting ThereFrom the 10 freeway, exit onto the 30 in San Berdoo. Take 30 north where it turns into the 330. Continue on the 330 until you enter the city of Running Springs. Shortly after entering the city, you'll see a sign for Running Springs School Road. Keller Peak Road is the next right.
If taking the 215 freeway, take the exit for the 30 going east.
Take Keller Peak Road for about 3.5 miles to reach Hungover Wall. The road eventually splits, with a left turn taking you into the parking lot for Children's Forest, and a right turn taking you to the summit and lookout tower of Keller Peak.
To take the fun out of it, the coordinates to Hungover wall are provided as the coords on the top bar of this page.
If going to the Children's Forest crags, stay left! Red TapeThere are a handfull of yellow marker campsites along the road. Camping is allowed in the area without fees.External LinksA search of "Keller Peak Climbing" on Google will provide several good links. RockClimbing.com has some good info, so I placed a link below.
