OverviewThis mountain dominates the Laguna de Sanchez valley. One of these days I will climb to the top of it!!!Getting ThereFrom Monterey go out on the "Ciaudad Victoria" HY about 35 miles until you get to the "Horse Tail Falls" turnoff. Continue up the mountain past hors tail falls 40 KM (about 25 miles. There you will reach Laguna de Sanchez, a small town. On the other side of the village, across the dry lake bed you will see Cerro del Muerto...Red TapeThe elevation goes from about 2000 ft to over 6ooo feet on a narrow winding road, paved for the most part...CampingThere are many places to camp or rent cabins in this area. Some are in pine forests on the slopes of the mountain others are in more open areas.
