Overview

Struca is situated between Dolgi Hrbet to the W, and Skuta to the E.

Struca is amusing to look at in its S to W view. As the name says it appears as a bread loaf pouring onto the Veliki Podi karstic grounds. Veliki Podi are the Big Grounds, a big terrace lying between Grintovec to the W (bivouac), and the S (SE) ridge of Skuta to the E.

Above the Ledine terrace and hut, the N and NW faces offer a few Alpine routes, as the Skuta N face does.

A climbers imagination is mostly stimulated by the W face, its compact limestone and its enormous overhang (a famous Aid-climb in the 1960's).
The Struca S face offers moderate Alpine climbs (trad) on perfect rock and is therefore popular.

Getting There

Struca in the S view

-See the Skuta & Dolgi Hrbet pages, as well as the range main page for general info.
-The Gamsov Skret unmarked and demanding approach route (var. b) leads us to Veliki Podi, below the S and W Struca walls.
-A marked and secured mountain-hiking path leads to the Struca summit before continuing towards the Skuta summit.
